Free Talk: Entering the Halls of the Chiyoda Palace
November 2023
Discover the little known story of the shoguns’ women, who lived in seclusion in Edo castle during the whole Tokugawa era, surrounded by great secrecy. Their life was depicted in an interesting series of antique woodblock prints, illustrating an array of Japanese customs and artistic pursuits, from seasonal celebrations and flower viewing to performing arts, many of which remain part of contemporary Japanese culture.
The talk will last around 15-20 minutes with a Q&A afterward, and a chance to explore the exhibition yourself.
All exhibits are accompanied by captions containing QR codes to give further insight into each piece.

Camden Passage Kimono Catwalk

Ezen Japan is hosting a Kimono Catwalk down Camden Passage as a celebration of National Kimono Day!
Come along to see a parade of Kimono along the Christmas-lit picturesque passage in London, with a free salsa Kimono dance performance to finish.
You can purchase free tickets to attend on our Eventbrite page. We are also inviting anyone who owns a kimono and wants to be involved a chance to join in the parade! Just fill out a form with your details on our event page to be a part of the parade.
