This project stems from my deep affection for nature. I was inspired by the quiet movement of the wind gently shaking the branches and casting soft shadows across my face. In that peaceful moment, I became aware of a subtle but profound fear — the fear of absence.

The more familiar something becomes, the more we tend to take it for granted — whether it is the presence of a loved one, the beauty of nature, or the small, ordinary moments of daily life. Yet these presences can vanish without warning, and we often realise their true value only when they are no longer with us.

This work explores how precious and fragile those connections are.

Glass, inherently delicate and easily broken, became the perfect material to express this vulnerability. Through a meticulous process of layering finely ground glass within plaster moulds, I wanted to mirror the slow and careful process of building trust and closeness between people.

The resulting glass forms, combined with intangible, ever-shifting shadows, speak to the transient nature of love and the quiet unease that always accompanies the potential for loss. Even as we experience peace and stability, we must remember that these are not guaranteed — they require awareness, care, and protection.

Through this work, I hope to gently invite viewers to reflect on the fragile peace and quiet moments they currently hold, and to cherish them before they are gone.
