Brief of the Kimono Textile Competition

Applicants will be asked to design a textile pattern inspired by kimono or with a flavour of Japanese aesthetic and inspiration. The design may be completed via traditional or digital mediums, or as a finalised physical piece as long as the design is clearly visible.

Designs may integrate traditional and modern techniques and explore topics outside of Japanese culture, as long as this is justified through the applicant’s reflective biography on the piece.
